Surf City Garage Code Red Active Wheel Cleaner Review

Cleaning alloy wheels is one of my least favorite car care chores. If you don’t stay on top of it, brake dust will ruin a nice set of alloys. The dust clings to the wheels and – if not removed periodically – will turn that gorgeous surface into a nasty mess. I’ve tried lots of wheel cleaning products over the years, but I’ve never found my go to bottle. I’m always on the lookout for new products to make car care easier, faster and more effective.

Earlier this year, I tested the Surf City Garage Clayzilla paint cleaning system. When the folks at Surf City saw the review, they asked if I would like to test more of their products and I happily agreed. You might think I live a glamorous life, with a different shiny new car in the driveway every week, but the fact of the matter is that I spend a considerable amount of time keeping those cars clean. If I had opened a detailing business at the same time I tripped into the car review game, I’d be in better financial shape.

All Season Tires on a S2000?

Tire choice is tough. Do you stick with the proven OEM tires (for better or for worse) or do you trust the reviews of random folks on the Internet? I’ve been sitting on the fence for months on end, while my 2007 Honda S2000 has been tucked away in the garage, waiting for a new set of tires.

I’ve always wanted to test a new set of tires before buying them. Even better, test one set of tires against another. So when BFGoodrich invited me to drop in on their “Are You Driver Enough?” tour at Giants Stadium, in the New Jersey Meadowlands, “where the mosquitos are as big as airplanes,” I jumped on the opportunity.

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Conquers the Mountain

Have you ever dreamed about climbing a ski mountain in a Jeep? I know I have. The thought of scaling peaks in a 4×4 has crossed my mind countlessly over the years while riding on the chairlift. So when BF Goodrich asked if I might be interested in a hands-on demo of their their brand new All-Terrain T/A KO2s at Hunter Mountain on a tricked out Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, I jumped on the opportunity.

This was not an ordinary media junket. I didn’t need to get on a plane, dress up, or sit through a slide presentation. All I needed to do was gather up my cameras, drive Slambo up to Hunter Mountain, stay over one night, wake up and go four wheeling in a wicked modded Jeep Wrangler with one of the best drivers in North America.
