I sure wished you made your list so that it could 'sort by' column . that way i could find the best gas mileage of all these cars. or include a spreadsheet of them so i could sort in on my computer.....

OH ! I just realized, i can copy paste it into a spreadsheet then manipulate the data , i.e. sort by best city mileage.

My wife & my cars saw $4 per gallon gas & they started giving high MPG.

I just had new sparkplug wires & timing belt put on Festiva. The last 3 tanks over mountains have been over 50MPG! The last mountain Festiva roundtrip had a total elevation gain & loss of 10300 feet. Uncalculated ups & downs may push the total to 11000 feet.

So change your sparkplug wires & timing belt if it has been 60,000 miles. Not only will you save your engine if a worn timing belt breaks, you could restore fine MPG.

My wife's 1.6 liter 2008 Hyundai Accent has turned in superior MPG. Thru a tough long winter & stop & go highway commuter traffic, my wife averaged 32+MPG. I thought Accent had more to give & my wife let me take Accent on 3 daytrips. While going over 1400, 3000, 4000, & 5500 foot mountain passes, Accent turned 41.5, 42.6, & 45.2 MPG!

Geo Metro gets lots of economy talk. Ford Festiva should too. My 88 1.3 liter carbureted Festiva averaged 45MPG for 10 years. With camping & camera gear, once I drove 526miles before fueling on under 10 gallons. Still driving it, the Mazda engine in the Festiva is sweet.

The Festiva has a more comfortable seating position for people in the backseat than Metro has with better head & leg room. More bulky cargo can be carried than with Metro.
